Tinting or colouring
Hand tinting photographs is a beautiful technique that can make an evocative print from a monochrome original.The original on the left was a quite sharp 2in x 3in picture. The resulting hand tinted print was reproduced beautifully as an 8in x 12in enlargement.
Of course a picture does not have to be old to benefit from this technique.
